U.S. Sen. Kamala Harris Dec. 29 named longtime Senate aide Rohini Kosoglu as her deputy chief of staff. Kosoglu is a Sri Lankan American legislative and policy expert with more than a decade of Senate experience.

Kosoglu is a graduate of the University of Michigan and The George Washington University. She has served more than a decade in the U.S. Senate moving legislation and enacting policy. She was activity involved in many landmark laws, including the Affordable Care Act.

“I am excited to have Rohini, a leader with a strong knowledge of Congress and how to get things done, joining on our team,” said Harris in a statement. “Now, more than ever, Californians are looking to their leaders in Washington, D.C., to protect our families and communities, and I look forward to working closely with Rohini as we fight for the ideals of our nation.”
