If you want to spice things up, you can always go scuba diving, snorkelling, kayaking, deep sea fishing, and windsurfing or canoeing. Also called ventura beach, Bentota is a beachgoers haven. Long and wide beach is perfect for a leisurely walk.

This beach is quieter and entertains a broader crowd of visitors. The resorts and luxury hotels in Waskaduwa are impressive, to say the least, and can be booked with ease if you are travelling with the help of blogs like Travel Kalutara. Beaches in front of the resorts are kept clean and safe to facilitate for tourists. If you get there early you can observe the fishermen leaving the shores on traditional boats and pulling long nests out of the sea.

Kalutara beach is a long stretch of golden sand that stretches from North Kalutara to Katukurunda. It breaks at the estuary of Kalu river and makes for an enchanting beach experience. The upper part of the beach is also known as Calido beach. Although the beach is too rough to have a dip, It is a famous family gathering place for locals. Lower part of the Calido beach has the best of both worlds, If the sea is calm you can venture ahead along the panhandle to the point where Kalu river meets the ocean. Southern part of the Kalutara beach is wider.

Mount Lavinia Beach

The first thing that comes to mind when one hears this name is chilling on the beach. The Mount Lavinia beach is so good that it attracts tourists from all over the country to at least take some time off travelling and relax on its sands. Being so close to the Colombo you’d guess this could be crowded. You guessed right! Hence It’s better to avoid weekends and holidays. The Sea is not rough, so it is possible to have a pleasurable dip.
